Freedom
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. -2 Corinthians 3:17
The painting was created specifically for and during a worship night at a local church here in Arizona! As I prayed about what the Lord wanted to do that night, I felt the word "Freedom." Over and over again, "freedom."
I felt it in two distinct ways.
The first, was giving the Holy Spirit freedom to move. So often we get caught up in our own plans and agendas. We tend to set expectations of how we want or think the Spirit of God will move in our life. In doing so, we can unintentionally stifle the Holy Spirit.
When we choose to release our expectations of what we think He needs to do and simply invite Him in, it creates this beautiful space for the Holy Spirit to move in a new way. So let go of your preconceived expectations, and simply be expectant that He will show up and do what He does best!
And second, as the Holy Spirit's presence comes, He brings us freedom! Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is FREEDOM! He brings breakthrough in our situations. He breaks chains that we may not even know were there!
He frees us from the things that weigh us down in this world; whether it be worries, anxiety, depression, fears, the feeling that we have to perform or be good enough, and so many other beliefs we can fall into. As we invite His Spirit in, He moves in our hearts and brings freedom in new ways! So I hope you will invite Him into this moment with you. Let Him encourage you and bring you a fresh word.
