Imago Dei
When we open the Word of God, incredible revelation unfolds. So often, we approach the Bible seeking answers about who we are, why we exist, and what we are meant to do. We look to the Scriptures as a mirror, trying to catch a glimpse of ourselves and understand what God is doing in our life. It’s easy to forget that the Bible is, first and foremost, God's story. And ultimately, it’s a story about Jesus.
When we approach Scripture with this truth in mind--that it is all about Jesus—we begin to discover revelation that changes everything. Through the incarnate Word, His Son, we come to know our Father. As we understand who Jesus is, what He did, and why He did it, we are able to understand who we are in Him.
You are a masterpiece. You are a work of art, handcrafted by the Creator. You are the beloved child of a Heavenly Father. You are made holy and righteous through the blood of the Lamb. You are redeemed and set free. You were made with purpose, carrying His Spirit within you. You are made in the very Image of God--Imago Dei. You carry His love, His light, and His likeness.
When we read the Bible through this lens of truth, our minds are renewed. The wounds left by the world are healed, filled with His grace. The broken pieces of our lives become testimonies of His goodness, as He puts us back together more beautifully than we could ever imagine.
When we use the Word to see Jesus—when we allow it to be a mirror that searches and exposes our hearts—we are transformed. We begin to reflect the very nature of the One who created us, for we are made in His Image.
