The Story of Grace #2
This design tells the story of Jesus. He is the Lion of Judah and the Passover Lamb. There is a beautiful duality to His nature. He is bold and humble, strong and meek, King and Servant. He carries the authority to defeat sin and death, but humbly went to the cross as a lamb to the slaughter.
The flowers are a reminder of who He is to us. Jasmine means "Gift of God." It brings to mind John 3:16, "that God so loved the world He gave His only Begotten Son." Jesus is the perfect gift of God given for us.
The white poppies symbolize peace--Jesus has given us His perfect peace even in this broken world. (John 14:27) No matter what storm we face, we can find peace in His presence.
Lavender is a soothing flower. Its aroma is calming and it has been used medicinally to ease pain and aid the healing process. It is a reminder that Jesus is our Healer. By His stripes we have been healed! (1 Peter 2:24)
White gladiolus are also called Sword Lilies. They are a reminder that while Jesus is full of love and compassion, He is also filled with power and authority. And He has passed it on to us. He has given us the authority to lay hands on the sick and see them healed and to cast out demons. It's a reminder that our salvation is just the doorway of what Jesus has truly done for us. We are more than conquerors in Him.
